Musical Analysis #1 – Purple Rain by Prince I’ve always been one of Prince’s biggest fans. My all-time favorite song by him is Purple Rain. Hi! I'm Doris and this blog is a requirement for my music course at the University of Alaska Fairbanks where I'm majoring in psychology. I'm a lifelong Alaskan and my husband and I have three children and one grandson. I don't currently play any instruments but did play the violin when I was in elementary school. I still have my violin and sometimes think about taking it out and learning to play it again.   I listen to all kinds of music. My favorite place to listen to music is in my car while driving on a long trip. I like to listen to classical music while reading and studying. I guess the genre depends on what I'm doing. And I absolutely love to listen to live music. We most recently attended Salmonfest in Ninilchik and the bands we listened to were amazing.  One was a young lady named Vella who had an amazing voice. She was discovered on Tik Tok and is now recording her first album in Los Angeles. Here she is:  Thanks for visiting my page!
